This is a resource designed to be used independently, for revision, or in a class setting.
It is ideal for extended cover or to set a revision / exam preparation resource.
Though I have labelled it AQA, it is not specific to an exam board.
However, I have included specific references to AQA and Edexcel (i.e. their themes and topics) and so can be edited to be exam board specific.
It starts at target grade 1 and build to target grade 7 and so can be edited or kept the way I have designed it for crossover / boderline students or students who are currently at foundation level but are capable of higher - I have designed it for my own students in this situation.
This makes it suitable for a mixed ability class also.
A booklet designed for independent learning that will help students prepare for all questions, both foundation and higher, of the writing exam.
Useful for cover, independent learning, revision homework etc.
Handy hints and tips as well as essential vocabulary.
Focus of recall and self testing, as well as practice questions.
A review of writing on all topics and subtopics. Simple to work through. Great for revision or independent work. Does not require any additional resources.
This sheet is designed to enable ‘live’ marking during speaking mock exams and also to enable quick but detailed feedback to students.
It can also be used for a ‘walking, talking mock’.
I have made the wording of the mark scheme clearer and more concise to render it clearer for students.
Grade boundaries are included so that the sheet is a complete mark scheme.
The grade boundaries are for the Spanish 2018 exam.
The French are as follows:
Foundation 38 /5 34/4 25/3 16/2 7/1
Higher: 53/9 48/8 44/7 38/6 32/5 27/4 (22/3 - no longer used - no grade 3 at Higher)
A comprehensive set of materials to help students prepare for the writing exam. Guidance on each question, including success criteria from the new mark scheme (drawing on my training as an AQA examiner for the new specification). Comprehensive vocabulary lists and tasks to help students revise key structures and vocabulary.
I have added the vocab lists as excel lists so that they can be easily copied and pasted into various revision applications, or simply copied and pasted onto word documents. They are the ‘vocab sgeets’ referred to in the handbook.
The structure of the handbook encourages spaced repeition and low stakes testing to embed this key language.
A unit of work to help students prepare for the upcoming that can be used in class or as independent revision. It has many hours worth of activities and encourages progress through low stakes testing and spaced learning, as well as providing sample answers and vocabulary and key language support.
The handbook describes each task in the AQA speaking exam, including success criteria, and provides sample questions and answers. Tasks are designed to build confidence and knowledge.
Support in the form of a knowledge capture sheet is given in a separate document.
There is enough here to cover all lessons and independent learning in the run up to the AQA speaking exam at the beginning of May , especially if adequate time is given for self-testing (which I strongly recommend).
A resource for foundation students sitting the AQA Spanish GCSE. Each role play from the AQA specimen speaking paper is included, along with the teacher notes and some exemplar answers. There are also some tips for the role play and guidance on how to use the resource.
As we go into the last few weeks before the Controlled Assessment deadline this bundle will help students to re-sit those emergency Controlled Assessments.
This is to supplement and support with Unit 2 of Minna no Nihongo, p16.
Helps pupils with hiragana recognition to access the challenging language of Minna no Nihongo and to build vocabulary and reading confidence.
A higher level text for the new GCSE, reading and writing exam preparation.
A complex text to dictate, comprehension questions and translation activities (Spanish to English to Spanish) to build vocabulary and confidence with more complex sentences.
A presentation and worksheet to be used together to support students finding Minna no Nihongo challenging to access. Supports with this basic vocabulary (p5 Minna no Nihongo).
